KINGSPORT – Judy Ann Walker Capps, age 62, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 1, 2007, at her residence.
She was born in Ashe County, N.C., a daughter to the late Joseph and Beryl Walker, and had spent most of her life in the Tri-Cities area. Judy was retired from Sprint and along with her parents was preceded in death by an infant brother, Ronnie Walker.
Survivors include husband of 42 years, Elmer Capps; son, Joseph C. (Joey) Capps; and four special grandchildren, Dakota Capps, Trevor George, Brianna Capps and Joseph C. (Joe Joe) Capps II.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the Forest Hills Mausoleum, with Pastor Dave Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Weaver Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Capps, Jimmy (Jimbo) Capps Jr., Kevin Capps, Rick Buckles, Duff Brent, and Jerry Akers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Watkins and Bud Huntington.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Hospice of Kingsport, and also to the many friends and co-workers at Sprint.
